Rottnest Island

Perth's recreational island, Rottnest Island has been attracting a steady stream of visitors from the mainland since it was first declared an A Class Reserve in 1917. Being just 25 minutes from Fremantle by ferry (slightly longer from Hillarys), many come for the day; others stay longer utilising one of a variety of accommodation alternatives available.

Swan River Cruises

There are a number of cruises which operate up and down the Swan River. Cruises from Perth to Fremantle are an ideal way to include a river cruise on a trip to Fremantle or Rottnest Island. Up-river cruises take in the upper reaches of the Swan River and the Swan Valley wine region. Another top family day out is a trip to Perth Zoo, complete with a ferry ride across Perth Water to South Perth.

City Sightseeing

One of the best ways to see the city of Perth is a trip on the open top double decker bus, which is a hop on/hop off tour of the city and Kings Park, complete with commentary. The tour can be extended to include the Fremantle Tram Tour, a Swan River Cruise and guided tours of Fremantle.
