Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory

The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory provides an entertaining, diverse and educational experience for the local community and visitors to Darwin through exhibitions and events based on the region’s art, history and culture and through touring exhibitions.

As Cyclone Tracy plays a huge role in Darwin’s history, it is no surprise to find a permanent gallery here dedicated to the tragic event. It also has an excellent collection of Aboriginal and Southeast Asian art and works by Australians.

Admission fees may apply to special exhibitions. Cornucopia Museum Cafe, within the Museum and Art Gallery complex, takes full advantage of its setting – a tropical garden on Darwin Harbour at Bullocky Point. If the menu doesn’t draw you in, the setting, and the view from the outdoor and indoor dining areas certainly will.
