BRENTWOOD, SOUTH AUSTRALIA A small town in one of Australia's largest barley growing areas. Location: 14 km south east of Minlaton. Origin of name: the origin of the name is unclear. The most likely suggestion is that it was coined by Mrs. Julia Wurm for the new post office she and her husband established there. Mrs. Wurm was born in Mountmeeting Hall in Brentwood, Essex, England. The name originally meant "burnt wood."
