Blackall Range Drive

Australia has more than 20,000 km of coastline but there is just 200km of that vast coastline on escarpments that combine panoramic views of mountains and the sea. 20kms of that special escarpment is in the Blackall Range, in the hinterland of Queensland s Sunshine Coast. This is a most spectacular scenic drive and a 'must do' day-trip if you are holidaying on the Sunshine Coast. The twisting and often awe-inspiring road is full of surprises, not the least are the views to the coast and the Glasshouse Mountains. No matter what your interest - art galleries, food, wine, coffe, shopping, rainforest walks, waterfalls, views - you'll find it all here.

High Country Drive

A half or full day drive through the high country around Toowoomba. Starts: Toowoomba. Finish: Toowoomba.

Farmers Country Drive

Start the day by heading for Oakey (27 km west). Like so much of the Darling Downs, Oakey was first settled in the early 1840s when pastoralists moved into the area and claimed large areas of land for grazing. At Oakey you can visit the Museum of Australian Army Flying.

Burnett Inland Drive

Many people visit the Burnett/Fraser coast region but fail to explore the hinterland. If you plan to drive to the Burnett/Fraser region, why not take the inland route and enjoy some different and interesting scenery. The journey from Toowoomba to Budaberg is 409 km in length and makes for an enjoyable 1-2 day trip.

Cobb & Co Tourist Drive

The first mail route awarded to Cobb & Co in Queensland ran from Ipswich to Toowoomba in 1865. Not long afterwards, the railway line opened from Ipswich to Grandchester. Mail was transported by coach from Brisbane to Ipswich, then via rail from Ipswich to Grandchester, then back to coach again from Grandchester to Toowoomba. The Cobb & Co Tourist Drive follows the railway line and original road from Ipswich to Toowoomba, traversing the Lockyer Valley. You will see heritage-listed pubs & hotels constructed as resting points for travellers heading west.
