RED CLIFFS, VICTORIA


The home of the largest dried fruits packing house in Australia.
Location: 14 km from Mildura on the
Calder Highway.
Origin of name
: takes its name from the distinctive colour of the 70 m cliffs which flank the eastern reaches of the town.
Brief history: first opened up as a resettlement area for returned soldiers in 1820 who were granted land to develop irrigated farms.
