South Burnett Wine Trail

The South Burnett wine region is located 200km north-west of Brisbane, 150km north of Toowoomba and 150km from the Sunshine Coast. It's Queensland's largest wine region; home to Queensland's biggest vineyards and over a dozen Queensland wineries; and is barely more than a decade old.
But its wineries have already won strings of awards at State and national shows; its wines are served in the Queensland State Parliament and at many leading Brisbane restaurants; and they're also exported to Asia and several other overseas destinations where fine Australian wines

As a region, South Burnett offers a wide variety of things to see and do, which can also be experienced as you travel the wine trail. Visit a cellar door on the South Burnett Wine Trail and taste some award-winning wines; sample a range of delicious gourmet foods, or throw in a line at some of the best freshwater fishing dams in Queensland and catch your own.

The South Burnett Wine Trail runs from Nanango at the southern end of the South Burnett's designated wine region through to Moffatdale at the northern end. There is no set route to follow, though the Wine Trail website identifies where the cellar doors are offers suggestions.

The Trail is made up of two components: the northern area (which is based around Moffatdale) and the southern area which is based around Kingaroy and Nanango. Both sections can be reached by following the Burnett Highway (to the east) or the Bunya Highway (to the west). On the Trail, you will visit historic towns, and learn more about the pioneers who farmed the land at a variety of museums, or enjoy a range of special shopping experiences, from craft shops to lavender farms to antique stores.
